We begin our tour of Ourém, visiting its Medieval Castle, considered one of the most beautiful in Portugal. This ancient Muslim fort, conquered from the Moors in 1136, has unique features of Romanesque military architecture that make this national monument a must-see.
We continue the tour to Tomar. Here, we visit the Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by the Knights Templar in the 19th century. XIII, then a visit to the city of Tomar, through its typical streets, a break for lunch, with the Nabão River as a backdrop.
Back in Lisbon, stop to visit Almourol Castle.
In the middle of the Tejo River, the enigmatic Castle, one of the most emblematic monuments of the Christian Reconquest, stands imposingly. It will have been included in the lands in the custody of the Templars. The reconstruction works date from 1171.
